Queen Elizabeth II and I celebrated momentous occasions on June 2 - her coronation and my birthday. I had a much quieter celebration. It was supper at a favourite restaurant in Granville Ferry, followed by a wonderful Gilbert and Sullivan Society production of The Gondoliers. This is my traditional birthday celebration, and I thoroughly enjoy it.
However, this year, being as it is a Diamond Jubilee, we had fireworks in our yard. Good friends came over to enjoy them with us, and their teenage son helped set off the fireworks. Here, for you to enjoy them as well, is a sampling of my diamond jubilee fireworks display. We neglected to play any Handel music during this event.
